PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric apparatus allowing improvement of reliability by certainly removing influence of external light even when using an optical switch. SOLUTION: The electric apparatus includes: a lever 14 for inserting/extracting a device unit 10 to/from a casing; a light emission part 12 for emitting light of a pulse-like light emission signal; and a light reception part 13 for receiving the light of the light emission signal from the light emission part. The lever 14 has a light shielding part 15 for shielding light between the light emission part and the light reception part in a close state, and is evacuated from between the light emission part and the light reception part in an open state. The light emission signal from the light emission part 12 and a light reception signal of the light reception part 13 are compared, and it is decided that the lever 14 is opened when the light reception signal is the same signal as the light reception signal.
