PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair based on a completely new function which can be appropriately selectively used according to work. SOLUTION: The chair includes a main reaction force mechanism 4 and an auxiliary reaction force mechanism 8 for supporting the tilt of a back, and the configuration of the auxiliary reaction force mechanism 8 operated in a forward tilt angle range A1 which is a first tilt range and the configuration of the main reaction force mechanism 4 operated in a rocking angle range A2 which is a second tilt range are switched at the boundary position of both angle ranges A1 and A2. Between a first reaction force threshold f1 when the tilt of the back to the side of the forward tilt angle range A1 is started due to the change of backrest load from the boundary position and a second reaction force threshold f2 when the tilt of the back to the side of the rocking angle range A2 is started due to the change of the backrest load from the boundary position, a stable range Δf wherein the change of the backrest load is not linked to the tilt of the back is provided.
