PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a return mechanism for a cam device which is compact and is easy to assemble. SOLUTION: In the return mechanism 1 for the cam device, a cam slider 3 in a cam device advances so as to resist the energizing force of a returning coil spring 6, to compress the spring and to work a workpiece, and is then returned by the energizing force of the compressed coil spring to the original position. The returning coil spring includes two coil springs 7a, 7b that are different from each other in allowable load and are provided in series between a spring storage space 3b located at the lower part of the cam slider and a sidewall surface 2a which faces an opening on one end side of the spring storage space in a cam base sidewall part 2b that slides and supports the cam slider. The two coil springs are different from each other in coil diameter, and the front end of one of the coil springs enters the inside of the other coil spring from the opening on the one end side so that a part of one of the coil springs overlaps with a part of the other coil spring.
