PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorter for sorting objects to be sorted such as fruits and vegetables, which sorter can be stored in a compact storage space when it is not used for a sorting operation even though its feed hopper for feeding objects to be sorted to trays is disposed in a manner protruding from both sides of the sorter to outside during its sorting operation. SOLUTION: The sorter 1 including a plurality of trays 2 whereon objects to be sorted are placed, a transfer means 3 for transferring the plurality of trays 2, and a feed hopper 4 for feeding objects to be sorted to the plurality of trays 2, is constructed in such a manner that the feed hopper 4 is slidably disposed in a casing wherein the transfer means 3 is disposed so as to enable the feed hopper 4 to move from a working position to a storing position by causing the same to slide in the direction of transferring the trays 2.
