摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element with a sufficient light extracting efficiency and no fear of cracks occurring. SOLUTION: In the EL element with a sealing portion arranged on a light extracting face side of a light transmitting electrode, there is an optical sheet satisfying all of the following conditions arranged on a visual side surface of the sealing portion. a; In the optical sheet, at least flat domains of an average aspect ratio of 2 or more are dispersed in a matrix made of transparent resin, and an average value of smaller angles made by a lengthwise axial direction of the flat domains and a parallel direction with the optical sheet surface is 30°or less. b; When a refractive index of the matrix composing the optical sheet is n<SB>0</SB>and the refractive index of the flat domain is n<SB>1</SB>, n<SB>0</SB>is 1.62 or more and 2.0 or less, and moreover ¾n<SB>0</SB>-n<SB>1</SB>¾≥0.05. c; When the refractive index of the adhered portion is n<SB>2</SB>, the refractive index of the matrix satisfies a relation of ¾n<SB>0</SB>-n<SB>2</SB>¾≤0.05.
