Provided is a connector which can constitute a cable assembly in which generation of noise can be prevented during high speed transmission of a signal, and also provided is a cable assembly using the connector. A connector (10) includes a substrate (11), a plurality of signal terminals (31, 32) arranged in parallel on one surface of the substrate (11), and a ground layer (41) provided on the other surface of the substrate (11), wherein the signal terminals (31, 32) and the ground layer (41) are arranged so that at least a part of the ground layer (41) overlaps at least a part of the signal terminals (31, 32), respectively, with the substrate (11) interposed therebetween, a plurality of holes (43) are formed at the part of the ground layer (41) which overlaps the signal terminals (31, 32), and the maximum diameter of the hole (43) is smaller than the distance (L) between the centers of adjoining signal terminals. |
