PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a plurality of workpieces of different sizes in inner diameter in a chucking device for holding a cylindrical workpiece by pressing an O-ring on it from its inner diameter surface. SOLUTION: A clamp ring 14 is provided between a base 13 of the chucking device 10 and a head 12a of a draw bar, and a tapered surface 14a is provided along its circumference. O-rings 16 are provided between the tapered surface 14a and the head and the base. The workpiece W is put over the head 12a and positioned against the base 13. The draw bar 12 is slid to have the O-ring 16 pinched among the clamp ring 14, the head 12a and the base 13. The O-ring 16 axially compresses while sliding toward the base 13, and enlarges in diameter as expanded by the tapered surface 14a from the inner periphery, whereby the workpiece W is drawn toward the base 13 to be seated and held. Since the O-ring 16 has a large deformation amount in a radial direction due to the compression and the enlargement in diameter, the plurality of kinds of workpieces W with different inner diameter sizes are held.
