<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document scanning controller, a document scanner, a document scanning system and a document scanning control method by which a period of time for both-side scanning and that for one-side scanning can be made approximately equal to each other. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The document scanning system includes a first image sensor, first analog front end timing, a second image sensor, second analog front end timing, a scanning controller and an image buffer. In the document scanning controller, at least two image sensors and a synchronization control mechanism are integrated. By control for synchronizing the timing by the synchronization control mechanism and a double image processing processor, the period of time for implementing both-side scanning is made approximately equal to that for implementing one-side scanning.
