The invention relates to a pet litter box comprising at least one liquid-impermeable collecting container (2) provided with at least one opening (2.1) at the top and comprising a tray (1) for granular litter arranged above said container, wherein the tray (1) and the collecting container (2) can be separated from each other. To avoid odour, it is provided that the overall surface area of the opening/openings (2.1) in the top of the collecting container (2)/collecting containers (2) is considerably smaller than the base area of the tray (1).
