PURPOSE: A device and a method for providing a message including sound corresponding to a character are provided to transmit message with a sound related to a predetermined character among message content, thereby enabling a receiver to understand the intention or feeling of transmitter. CONSTITUTION: A character search unit(220) searches character which can generate the sound in a received message. A sound search unit(230) searches the sound corresponding to the searched character. A character converting unit(250) converts the selected character into character relevant to a receiver terminal among characters by countries relevant to the searched sound. A message transmitting unit(260) transmits the converted message with the searched sound.
