<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector with a shutter easy to be assembled regardless of a degree of skill of a worker. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the optical connector 100 with the shutter provided with an optical ferrule fixing part 10 composed of a coupling body of a plug frame 14 and a stop ring 13, a front housing 20 slidably mounted on the outside of the optical ferrule fixing part 10, and a shutter means 30 composed of a rear housing 40 mounted on the outside of the front housing 20 and for opening and closing an optical path of light emitted from an optical ferrule 1, a spring 60 of a fine diameter biased in a direction of pushing the front housing 20 for a stop ring 13 is interposed between the front housing 20 and an outer peripheral flange of the stop ring 40. The spring 60 is stored in a spring guide 20k formed on the side of the front housing 20.
