TWO-PLY FABRIC LOW FRICTION INTERFACE

A device 10 for reducing friction between a portion of skin of a living being and an object adjoining that portion includes two layers 12, 14 of tricot fabric 12 and 14. Each layer 12, 14 has a shiny side 16, 18, and the shiny sides 16, 18 of the two layers 12, 14 of fabric face each other. Each layer 12, 14 of fabric has a machine direction M, and the layers 12, 14 of fabric are positioned such that the machine direction M of one layer 12 is perpendicular to the other layer 14. A garment includes a low friction zone 52 and a higher friction zone 54 adjacent the low friction zone 52, the higher friction zone 54 comprising a material different from a material of the low friction zone 52. The low friction zone 52 comprises two layers 12, 14 of fabric with their shiny sides 16, 18 facing each other and their machine directions M oriented perpendicularly. Also described is a method of preventing or treating a skin wound comprising clothing a living being in a garment.
