<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make operation for selecting a candidate character string to be more efficient, without disturbing operation of conventional conversion inputting method and direct inputting method, resulting in improved efficiency of inputting itself of a character string, relating to a character string inputting program. <P>SOLUTION: In a conversion inputting program, when one key is pressed while a conversion key such as a space key is pressed and held, the character string assigned to that key can be selected.
