<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair dye which uses a silver salt, can dye gray hair in a color more near to black color, can more mitigate skin irritation originated from the silver salt than by conventional hair dyes, can give gloss to the hair, and can improve touch and combability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The hair dye for dyeing gray hair includes (1) a silver salt such as silver nitrate or silver sulfate, (2) an amino acid such as glutamic acid or aspartic acid, and (3) an amino acid salt such as an amino acid sodium salt or an amino acid calcium salt.
