<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact heat exchanger for temperature control of a vehicle such as an electric vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This is for a heat exchanger (1) for controlling and maintaining a temperature of a battery unit of a vehicle battery. The heat exchanger (1) is provided with a plurality of flat tubes (2) through which a heating medium can pass, and a collection tube (3) and a distribution tube (4) for guiding the heating medium. The plurality of flat tubes (2) are structured as multi-channel flat tubes (2). The collection tube (3) and the distribution tube (4) are connected with each other with the flat tubes (2) in-between and thereby a holding frame is formed, and the holding frame provides a structure to form an intermediate space.
