A gap covering device (10) for covering a gap (16) between two mutually adjacent first aircraft interior components (12, 14) comprises a visible portion (18) as well as a retaining portion (20) connected to the visible portion (18) and extending opposite the visible portion (18). A receiving structure is fastened to an inner surface of the visible portion (18) and/or of the retaining portion (20) and has a receiving contour adapted to an edge contour of the first aircraft interior components (12, 14).
