<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine purge device capable of preventing the deterioration of a part (a catalyst or the like) provided in an exhaust pipe by moisture included in the gas staying in the exhaust pipe after stopping an engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: After stopping the engine 2, in a state of closing an intake shutter 13 and opening an exhaust shutter 14, a dry air lead-in means 4 leads dry air to an upstream of the exhaust pipe 3 to extrude the gas staying in the exhaust pipe 3 to the downstream side, and purges the inside of the exhaust pipe 3 by dry air. Thereafter, the exhaust shutter 14 is closed, leaving the intake shutter 13 as it is closed to maintain the purging state. By this structure, the deterioration of parts such as a turbine 15 and a catalyst 16 provided in the exhaust pipe 3 by moisture included in the gas staying in the exhaust pipe 3 can be prevented.
