摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an inkjet printer by minimizing width of the vicinity of an ink ejection area at least at a portion through which a detection beam passes between a light emitting part and a light receiving part of a detection module. SOLUTION: The liquid droplet detection device has an integrally structured nozzle detection module 100 where an optical axis is adjusted by the light emitting part 101 radiating light by using a light emitting element and the light receiving part 102 receiving the light from the light emitting part 101 and which includes an ejection detecting means that detects ejection of a liquid droplet from a recording head, wherein a module base 104 integrally supporting the nozzle detection module 100 is included, and the module base 104 is formed in minimum width W so that width of the vicinity of the ink ejection area 106 at least at the portion through which the detection beam passes between the light emitting part 101 and the light receiving part 102 of the nozzle detection module 100 may approximate to width of the ink ejection area.
