<p>The method involves identifying a communication session (10) between a terminal e.g. computer or portable telephone, of a user and a service providing server in a network during implementation of negotiation protocol e.g. Session Initiation Protocol, for opening the session between the terminal and the server. Traffic exchanged during the identified session is analyzed to determine presence information (9) of the user, where the exchanged traffic comprises data relative to service and metadata relative to utilization of the service. The information is provided to a network presence service. An independent claim is also included for a network comprising a proxy server connected to a user presence information providing server.</p> |
