PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide easy-to-use portable imaging equipment which is equipped with a housing constituted partially movably and is made both compact and good in operability. SOLUTION: An optical portion 12 is incorporated in a primary equipment body 3 of a digital camera 1 on an opposite-side end of a grip portion 7. The optical portion 12 is equipped with a photographic lens 13, an intermediate moving lens 14, and an imaging element 15. When a cover portion 4 moves away from the grip portion 7, the camera is extended on the whole and the optical portion 12 projects into an extended projection state for photography. When the digital camera is carried, the optical portion 12 is in a collapsed state and the cover portion 4 moves toward the grip portion 7 to cover a lens arranged surface 3-2 in the front of the primary equipment body 3 and a back protection surface 16 where a back operation portion 20 of the primary equipment body 3 is provided, thereby protecting the exposed portions.
