The key has a swiveling insert (3) for swiveling between a retracted position in which the insert is placed inside a case, and a deployed usage position in which a part of the insert extends outside the case. An insert opening and folding mechanism permits to pass the insert from one position to the other, where the mechanism is manually actuated by a push button (4), and movably mounted according to a translatory movement (T) on the case in order to lock the insert in the retracted position or deployed usage position. A cover (5) is integrated with the insert and includes a notch (6b).
