<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain reliable image data in a YUV444 format, when converting image data from a Bayer format into a full-RGB format and further into a YUV444 format. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A demosaicing section 21 interpolates pixel data of a Bayer image for converting into pixel data in a full-RGB format, and a YUV444 conversion section 22 converts the pixel data in a full-RGB format into pixel data a YUV444 format. The YUV420 conversion section 23 thins out the pixel data in a YUV444 format for converting into pixel data in a YUV420 format. In this case, the pixel data are thinned out to pixel data in a YUV420 format so that B, R, and G pixel positions in a Bayer format become YU, YV, and Y, respectively.
