<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance power generation efficiency of a hydroelectric system, miniaturize an equipment, and improve operability and maintainability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This hydroelectric system including an electric-generating water wheel 4 rotatively operated by hydraulic power and driving a generator 10 by the electric-generating water wheel 4 includes: auxiliary machines (a governor 20, an intake gate opening/closing device 22, an inlet valve adjusting device 21, a governor 17 and an inflow gate opening/closing device 23) controlling the operation of the hydroelectric system by a hydraulic actuator; a hydraulic pump 16 delivering operating water led to the auxiliary machines; and a pump driving water wheel 14 driving the hydraulic pump 16.
