PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emit an ink droplet that is relatively stable such that contamination of ink and the like are reduced. SOLUTION: A channel member having a channel extending through from a first principal face to a second principal face such that the diameter of the second principal face side opening is greater than that of the first principal face side opening has: a first substrate made of ceramics and having the first principal face on part of an external surface thereof; and a second substrate made of ceramics, joined to the first substrate and having the second principal face on an external surface thereof, wherein at least one of the first and second substrates includes a Si component, and the first and second substrates are joined via an intermediate layer that contains as a principal component the same Si component as that contained in the first or second substrate.
