<p>A treatment system (200) for removing challenge materials from a water stream is provided. The treatment system (200) includes a treatment facility (202) configured to receive a water stream, a photo-electro-chemical oxygen demand device (205) positioned downstream of the treatment facility (202) and configured to measure an oxygen demand in the water stream after treatment by the treatment facility (202), and a challenge treatment facility (209) positioned downstream of the photo-electro-chemical oxygen demand device (205) and configured to perform a challenge treatment process on the water stream. If at least one challenge material is detected by the photo-electro-chemical oxygen demand device (205), then the challenge treatment facility (209) performs the challenge treatment process on the water stream.</p> |
