PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery having a high charge and discharge capacity, in which deterioration of the negative electrode active material accompanied with charge and discharge cycle can be improved, its manufacturing method, and the lithium ion secondary battery using the negative electrode material for the lithium ion secondary battery.

SOLUTION: In the negative electrode material 10 used in the lithium ion secondary battery, the negative electrode active material 2 in which at least one kind or more of metals selected from Si of 30 to 70 atom.% and Sn of 1 to 40 atom.% are dispersed in amorphous carbon is formed on a negative electrode current collector 1.
