<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device with a rotation speed detector that protects a pulsar ring by a protective cover, suppresses deformation of the protective cover by enhancing its strength and rigidity, and improves reliability of rotation speed detection by improving positioning accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The protective cover 10 is formed into a cup-like shape by press working a cold rolled steel plate and includes a fitting part 10a fitted with an outer member 2, a collar part 10b superposed outwardly in the radial direction from the fitting part 10a and closely adhered to an end face of the outer member 2, a disk-like shielding part 10c extending inwardly in the radial direction from the collar part 10b, a bottom part 10e blocking an end of an inner member 1 from the shielding part 10c via an inclined part 10d, and a stepped part 10f at the center of the bottom part 10e and expanding in a recess 7a of a caulking part 7. A through hole 14 is formed at a position in the shielding part 10c corresponding to a sensor, a rubber member 15 is laid to cover an exposed outer surface of the protective cover 10, and the sensor is opposingly disposed with respect to the through hole 14 via the rubber member 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
