摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology by which the distance between metal-backs and the distance between the metal-back and a high resistance member can be made larger while securing the area of the metal-back. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image display device is provided with a plurality of phosphor films arranged two-dimensionally on a substrate, lattice-like barrier ribs formed on the substrate for partitioning the phosphor films, a plurality of metal-backs each of which covers at least one phosphor film, and a resistance wiring which electrically connects a plurality of metal-backs and has higher sheet resistance than the metal-back. The resistance wiring is arranged at the apex of the lattice-like barrier ribs and composed of a plurality of column direction lines and a plurality of row direction lines. The metal-back has a first portion to cover the phosphor film on the substrate and a second portion which is formed along the barrier ribs for connecting the first portion and the row direction line.
