<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection apparatus by which all bottles are displayed substantially upright in an image without distortion. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The inspection apparatus for optically examining bottles has a mirror cabinet for imaging different circumferential side views of a bottle to be examined. The deflection mirrors for beam paths associated with lateral image areas are tilted so that an image distortion caused by central projection may be compensated for in the lateral image areas.
