PR-SCTP BASED REAL-TIME MULTIMEDIA DATA TRANSMISSION FOR QOS ENHANCEMENT

PURPOSE: A PR-SCTP(Stream Control Transmission Protocol) based real-time multimedia data transmitting method for QoS improvement is provided to supply a real-time multimedia service by using only SCTP among transmission protocols, thereby saving resources of a server or a client. CONSTITUTION: If a client becomes a play state, a server calculates lifetime of each multimedia message according to a buffer state of the client and a network state(S204). The server performs reliable transmission during the calculated lifetime(S205). If the client becomes a buffering state, the server sets lifetime of all multimedia data by an unreliable transmission constant(S206). The server performs unreliable transmission(S207).
