PURPOSE: A paper money paying-in and paying-out device of an automatic teller machine is provided to return the paper money in a discharge process to a bundle state in a cateress unit by temporarily safekeeping the paper money discriminated to fault in a time-and-date reject unit. CONSTITUTION: A front plate(111) is installed in one side. A push plate(113) is installed with determined space to the front plate. A bill accession space(112) is formed between push plates. A separate unit is located in the downward of the front plate. The separate unit comprises a pick-up roller, a first feed roller, and a first guide roller in order to transmit the paper money putting into the bill accession space by each paper to detection the unit. A cateress unit composed of a second feed roller and a second guide roller. A time-and-date reject unit comprises a stopper closing an elevation tray(182), loading the defective bill the elevation tray and carrier way interval.
