<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an error occurs in a measured value due to inclination of a specimen or friction with a tool, in a differential measurement method, which is a conventional method for measuring a thermal expansion coefficient. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method of measuring a thermal expansion coefficient, the thermal expansion coefficient of a strip specimen is measured on the basis of expansion and contraction of the specimen derived from temperature change while supporting the specimen by a channel of a fixture, in which the channel and the specimen do not contact by face-to-face.
