PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a detergent composition for a hard surface, excellent in bactericidal stability without spoiling bactericidal performance. SOLUTION: The detergent composition for the hard surface contains (a) an abrasive (hereinafter referred to as (a) component), (b) a polyacrylic acid based thickener (hereinafter referred to as (b) component), (c) a quaternary ammonium salt type antibacterial agent (hereinafter referred to as (c) component), (d) polycarboxylic acid having 3 to 6 carboxyl groups in a molecule (hereinafter referred to as (d) component) and water. When the detergent composition for the hard surface is manufactured, a mixture containing the (c) component, the (d) component and water is blended with the (b) component.
