PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock-absorbing material for packing which is improved so as to store and pack a stand in a common stand storage recess without any play even when either one of two kinds of stands of different shapes is packed together with an article to be packed. SOLUTION: The shock-absorbing material consists of resin foams 1 and 2 to be interposed between an article 3 to be packed and an outer box. A storage recess 6 is formed on a surface of the shock-absorbing material, which can be stored even with a first stand 4 having side faces 4a substantially parallel to each other or with a second stand having both side faces to be inclined in a forwardly-tapered manner. In the storage recess 6, a part of both inner surfaces 6a on both sides are formed in a first abutting face 6b for abutting both side faces 4a substantially parallel to each other of the first stand 4 from both sides, and the other part of inner surfaces 6a on both sides are formed on a second abutting face 6c for abutting both side faces inclined in a forwardly-tapered manner of the second stand from both sides.
