<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a large push-in force by a very small force, when mounting a liquid cartridge, and to easily and surely mount the liquid cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid cartridge includes a cartridge holding mechanism 154 for holding an ink cartridge 80 by inserting the ink cartridge 80 up to the first prescribed stroke, and a power transmission converting mechanism 153 for securing the push-in force required for mounting the ink cartridge 80, using a principle of a lever by a turning motion of a lever arm 160, and for converting the turning motion of the lever arm 160 into the second prescribed stroke S of movement required for mounting the ink cartridge 80 under a state held by the cartridge holding mechanism 154.
