<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide coated paper for printing having excellent smoothness and paint coatability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the coated paper for printing having two or more layers of the coated layers containing a pigment and adhesive as main components on at least one surface of the base paper, 50% or more of a bleached pulp used for the base paper is a bleached pulp which takes an eucalyptus material or acacia material as the raw material, and which is pulped by a kraft pulping method to dividedly add a pulping liquor and manufactured by a multistage bleaching process including an ozone bleaching step. Light calcium carbonate manufactured by causticizing green liquor produced as a pigment when manufacturing a kraft pulp by quicklime or a slaking liquid obtained by making quicklime react with a sodium hydroxide-containing liquid and executing a pulverizing process followed by washing with water after solid/liquid separation of the lime sludge to be produced, is contained on the outermost layer of the coated layer.
