The connector has an automatic locking device (8) for automatically locking a charging plug (6) after insertion in to a charge coupler (5) of a charging station (4). An unlocking device (10) is coupled with a control device (9) of a central locking system of an electric vehicle (1), and releases a locking of the charging plug in the charge coupler after operation. A display device (12) is arranged in a region of the control device of the central locking system. The display device displays actual status of a charging or locking state of the charging plug.
