PURPOSE: A method of defrosting a refrigerator is provided to achieve an efficient defrosting operation by periodically the defrosting operation depending on the accumulated operation time of a compressor if a control mode does not change. CONSTITUTION: A method of defrosting a refrigerator is as follows. A refrigerator control mode is input(S1). It is determined whether the temperature of the input control mode is higher than that of a current control mode(S3). If yes, a defrosting operation is performed(S5). The operation time of a compressor is accumulated or it is determined whether a refrigerator control mode has been input. If the control mode has been input, it is determined whether the temperature of the input control mode is higher than that of a current control mode and if the control mode has not been input, it is determined whether the accumulated operation time of the compressor is longer than a predetermined time. If the temperature of the input control mode is higher than that of the current control mode, the defrosting operation is performed and if the accumulated operation time is longer than the predetermined time, the defrosting operation is performed. |
