<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable suppression of an increased memory capacity in an image processing device, with a configuration having mutual correlation in the distribution of a multi-valued data. <P>SOLUTION: Quantization processing is performed for data distributed by color (S104). Binary data obtained by the quantization processing is selected, only for the color that generates recording amount information (S106). Then, regarding the binary data of the selected color, the recording amount information is generated after filtering processing is performed (S107). In the quantization processing for a second plane, a value converted into a negative value from the recording amount information generated in the first plane processing is added to the multi-valued data. In the quantization of the second plane, after this addition, the value of the multi-valued data is decreased, and the probability of producing binary data for dot recording is decreased in the quantization.
