The invention essentially relates to a method for locally broadcasting audio/video content between a source device (100) provided with an HDMI interface (102) and a target device (110), characterised in that the method includes the separate steps of: - compressing the audio/video content in the source device; - transmitting said compressed audio/video content over a wireless link, from a transmitter (101) associated with the source device, said transmitter receiving the audio/video content from the HDMI interface of said source device; - receiving the compressed audio/video content using the receiver device.
