PURPOSE: An inverter circuit for a liquid crystal display device and a driving method including the same are provided to drive compatible of cold cathode fluorescent lamp and external electrode fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION: A transformer(540) comprises a primary coil(L1) and a secondary coil(L2). The transformer is respectively connected to both end of a backlight. Ta correction capacitor(Cc) is parallel connected to a load(LOAD). A backlight is ballast capacitors which are respectively connected to both side of at least one external electrode fluorescent lamp which is connected in parallel or at least one cold cathode fluorescent lamp which is connected in parallel and at least one cold cathode fluorescent lamp.
