[PROBLEMS] To provide a meter reading terminal for charge calculation which can communicate with the host computer simply and reliably by using the most adequate communication means when transmitting data to the host computer by using this terminal for calculating, e.g., the electricity charge of a home and a system using this. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A meter reading terminal for charge calculation. After a meter reader reads the meter indicating the use amount of energy of a home, the result of the meter reading is transmitted to the host computer. The meter reading terminal has a plurality of communication means. When the result of the meter reading is inputted into the meter reading terminal, one of the communication means transmits the result to the host computer.
