PURPOSE: A charged particle for an image display, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the optical property of an electronic paper display device by improving the white reflectivity of a charged particle. CONSTITUTION: A charged particle for an image display contains a pigment with the particle size over 0.2 microns, and a pigment dispersant. The reflectivity of a particle first layer is over 40%. A manufacturing method of the charged particle comprises the following steps: preparing aqueous continuous phase liquid; preparing a dispersion solution containing an acrylic monomer, a cross-linking agent, a charge control agent, and a cosolvent; adding the pigment and the pigment dispersant to the dispersion solution for preparing disperse phase liquid; and forming a polymer by mixing the aqueous continuous phase liquid with the disperse phase liquid.
