<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress or prevent deterioration in image quality called "continuous print ghost", that is, a phenomenon that an image formed before appears as ghost mainly when consecutively forming images under low-temperature and low-humidity environment. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a counting means for counting the number of times of forming the same image repeatedly in the same area on a latent image carrier on the basis of image information; an environment detection means for detecting at least one of ambient temperature and humidity; and a control means for controlling rotation of the latent image carrier so that the same area on a surface of the latent image carrier may pass through a cleaning means and a developing means at least once or more without forming the image on the surface of the latent image carrier if a counted value by the counting means exceeds a predetermined value and a result of detection by the environment detection means fulfills a predetermined condition when forming the image repeatedly on the surface of the latent image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
