DEVICE, METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR VIDEO CONVERSION

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert colors while suppressing excessive conversion of a contrast when a video is color-converted. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An area division unit 22 divides the video into areas of a plurality of objects, and an RGB conversion parameter generation unit 23 generates histograms of the respective areas to generate RGB conversion parameters for distributing the histograms of the respective areas to a target distribution range. An RGB conversion function generation unit 25 generates color conversion functions by using the RGB conversion parameters. A video conversion unit 27 applies the color conversion functions to the video to convert the video, calculates conversion synthesis coefficients of respective pixels of an input video, and adjusts intensity of conversion of the video according as whether the conversion synthesis coefficients are large or small when generating a video from the input video and the video generated by the conversion.
