PURPOSE: A middleware for controlling a steel process and a method for providing a service in the middleware is provided to manage plural tasks efficiently and cope with the change in a steel process. CONSTITUTION: A service manager(110) manages service agents, and sets up a service communication channel between a service agent and an application tasks. An application task registration manager(120) registers the application tasks, and a middleware kernel(130) manages the service agents and the information shared by service agents. The service management unit allocates a tread of a service handler dynamically.
