<p>825,011. Malt drying kilns. RUZICKA, M. March 21, 1956 [March 22, 1955], No. 8877/56. Classes 34(2) and 64(3) Malt is dried on a perforated and collapsible kiln floor 18, Fig. 1, by air heated in two stages the first of which comprises passage through a hot water or steam radiator 11 whilst the second includes flow through a heater 5 both the radiator 11 and the heater 5 being heated by a boiler furnace 1, 2, Fig. 2, the former receiving the hot water or steam through a pipe 12 whilst the latter forms part of the furnace gas path to a chimney 8. On the collapse of the floor 18, the dried malt drops into hoppers 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, over a roof 17 which shields the hot air outlet and air baffles 16. Conveyers 15, 15<SP>1</SP>, are used to remove the malt from the hoppers.</p> |
