PURPOSE: A method for preparing 2-methyl-N-substitution maleimide is provided to shorten preparation time and to prevent additional polymerization. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing 2-methyl-N-substitution maleimide comprises: a step of mixing primary amine, organic solvent, dehydration co-catalyst, or solubilizer under the presence of acid catalyst; and a step of dehydrating amine salt and 2-methyl maleic anhydride under catalyst under acid catalyst, at 50-200°C. The primary amine is cyclohexyl amine, anyline, hydroxyanyline, nitroanyline, toluidine, or ethylene diamine. A crude extract of crude is zinc, chrome, palladium, covalt, nickel, irons or aluminum.
