<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release agent composition which is a chlorine free type and can easily and positively remove a gasket in a piping flange and equipment, and to provide an aerosol release agent containing the release agent composition. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A mixed solvent comprising 30-89 wt.% of an ether solvent, 1-60 wt.% of a ketone solvent, 1-60 wt.% of an ester solvent, and 1-10 wt.% of a sulfur-containing solvent is blended with a 8-20 wt.% of an amide thixotropic agent to give the release agent composition.
