The invention relates to a method for stabilizing the network frequency (f) of an electrical power network (NT) wherein an at least two-shaft gas turbine (GT) has a power turbine (PT) and a gas generator (GG), wherein the power turbine (PT) is connected to a first generator (GE1) by means of a shaft (S1) in a torque transferring manner. In addition, the invention relates to an assembly for carrying out the method. Conventional methods for frequency stabilization are accompanied by high investment expense and efficiency losses. As a remedy for this, according to the invention, the first shaft (S1) of the power turbine (PT) and the first generator (GE1) turn permanently synchronized with the power network (NT) and the first generator (GE1) drives the rotation as a motor and a second shaft (S2) of the gas generator (GG) permanently turns at an ignition speed (f1), wherein the gas generator (GG) is ignited upon a power demand and the power turbine (PT) is driven by the created hot gas (GS) of the gas generator (GG), such that the first generator (GE1) creates power (P). |
